La Jolla Cove Underwater Park Snorkel Sunday, July 6th at 10am
How about a Snorkel in La Jolla Cove. Meet at the North side of the rest room facilities in Scripps Park next to La Jolla Cove at
10am. We will have lunch at 12 noon. Scripps Park is immediately adjacent and an excellent area for picnicking. Water
visibility at the Cove can sometimes exceed 30 feet, making it a popular location for scuba divers and snorkelers.

Directions: From the north, take Interstate 5 to La Jolla Village Drive, west bound, turn left on Torrey Pines Road at the
signalized intersection. Follow Torrey Pines Road to the signalized intersection at Prospect Street and turn right. Watch for
the signs and bear right on Coast Boulevard.

From the south, take Interstate 5 north to La Jolla Parkway. Continue on as it becomes Torrey Pines Road. Follow Torrey
Pines Road to the signalized intersection at Prospect Street and turn right. Watch for the signs and stay right on Coast
Boulevard.

Parking: There is no public parking lot for La Jolla Cove. On-street parking can be difficult to find, particularly in summer. It is
limited to three hours at a time on weekdays and unlimited on weekends, but check the signs for any restrictions. Paid
parking is available in downtown La Jolla at several locations and is a short walk from the beach.

What to bring; Snorkel gear, lunch, a towel, sun screen, lawn chair and a few friends....a wet suit if you have one. There will
also be a few set of snorkel gear for us to try complements of Michelle.

San Diego Gay Pride Festival, Sunday, July 20th, 2008 at 11am
Meet us for a fun day in the sun at the San Diego Pride Festival. The festival open at 11am. We will meet at
the south east corner of 6th and Laurel in Balboa Park for a walk in the sun.

From East County
Take the 8 freeway west
Exit onto Hotel Circle Drive/Taylor Street via exit #3 toward Taylor Street 0.3 miles
Hotel Circle South becomes Taylor Street 0.7miles
Turn Left onto Pacific Highway 0.1 miles
Make a Left at the first signal into the Old Town Parking Lot
Drive into the parking lot, making a left, then another left.
We meet at the very SW corner just under the freeway overpass.

From South County:
Take the 5 Freeway north to the Pacific Highway exit
Take Pacific Highway North 2.4 miles
Make a right into the Old Town Parking Lot (Before Taylor St.)
Drive into the parking lot, making a left, then another left.
We meet at the very SW corner just under the freeway overpass.

From North County:
Take the 5 Freeway South to Sea World Drive exit
Make a right onto Sea World Drive for 0.2 miles
Make a left onto Pacific Highway for 1.0 mile
Just Past Rosecrans street/Taylor street  
Make a left into the Old Town Parking Lot
Drive into the parking lot, making a left, then another left.
We meet at the very SW corner just under the freeway overpass.
From East County: Take the 8 freeway

Old Town Trolley Station on Map quest
